qbark I am not comparing autism to anything, this was just an awareness poster I created for school. I hope I don't have to type that 3 times for you to read it correctly :)

MeineSehnsucht - I understand what you mean, this was done for a typography class, so we had to use text to emphasize our point. My brother has autism, and I DO think autism is a bad thing. If it wasn't then your right, people would CHOOSE to have it, but that's not the case. More awareness on the subject can do no harm.

I understand what you mean, but did you have to compare autism to diseases which kill millions of children worldwide?

All that statement says is that more children are diagnosed with autism per year than aids diabetes and cancer combined. This is a true statement, that was found on www.autismspeaks.org. This is not downplaying the effects of diseases like aids diabetes and cancer, it is only comparing the amount of people diagnosed. In no way did I ever say that autism was worse than these. This is just a statement that is used by me AND the previously listed website and the ONLY intention of that statement is to show exactly how common the disorder is. If it is that common, then obviously there should be more awareness for it. I really feel like you are reading too much into it, and I feel there is nothing offensive about this poster.

I like the poster, although the text is a bit like autism is a bad thing. (Well, you wouldn't choose to have it if you could, but it's no disease or something.) You get what I mean?
